Tell us about yourself, and why you support the renewable energy movement.
We have the technology to create a more eco-friendly way of life. It is more profitable to the politicians to keep this technology down. I have seen this exact same thing in India. I walked into a bank, and noticed that all their records were kept on ledgers which were brought back and forth from storage to the teller as needed by runners. I then found out that they just got some computers in, but the manager didn't want to use them because the runners would then be unemployed.
He was stopping progress to keep a couple runners employed. If he let the computers come in, life would be more efficient for the tellers and customers. The runners would be replaced by computer technicians. Once job would go extinct, but many others would blossom.
The fossil fuel industry is doing the same thing. OPEC wants to keep a monopoly on an outdated source of energy. Fossil fuel sales would go extinct, but we could provide a cleaner, safer, and more efficient source of energy. This would not necessarily even put Shell out of business. They would simply have to adapt and start selling the new sources of energy.
This would create new jobs for Americans, new businesses would develop, we may even be able to save some of the resources on this planet for our future generations.
I am simply tired of all this small minded, greedy, selfish thinking. Lets all grow up and work together for a brighter future.
How do you contribute?
Try to reduce-reuse-recycle, Reduce my junk mail and paper products
Do you have tips on how to conserve and be more energy-efficient?
I am in the process of changing all my light bulbs to energy-efficient bulbs.
