Couple months ago I wrote a piece titles “Vote them out”. This was my stab at dirty politicians who failed to extend Federal Funding to renewable and kept pumping our Tax dollars to Big Oil. This bill would extend the Federal Tax Credit past December 31st, 2008 and promote further build out of renewable farms.

We’ll, it finally passed. Stuffed into the side of the $700B bailout pkg. but cleared nonetheless. This was one of the compromises the Democrats made in order to bail out the Administration. The good news is that the renewable industry has been given an extension in Federal support to breakthrough once and for all. What’s interesting is that Big Oil, which worked vigorously to help defeat this bill, is now positioning to become the beneficiary by moving into renewable. First; by running some great ads to change how the public views them. Second; by investing heavily into all renewable: Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Bio, etc. where they can take full advantage of Federal and State subsidies.

Regardless, I’m very happy to see our government take a huge step towards bettering our position with regards to Energy.
